In the fantasy town of Ravenskill, witchlings eagerly anticipate the Black Moon Ceremony, where their destinies are sealed with the assignment of a coven. Covens, lifelong companions, guide witches to their full potential. Seven, the main character, anxiously awaits her amulet to illuminate, signaling her coven assignment. However, her amulet remains dim, along with those of two other witchlings, Thorn and Seven’s nemesis, Valley. They are designated as Spares, Seven's worst fear. To worsen matters, their coven circle remains incomplete.  Although outcast from society, Seven’s family stands by her, believing in her determination and intelligence to accomplish the impossible: slay a Nightbeast monster dwelling in the cursed forest on the outskirts of town. Failure to complete the task within 21 days would result in transformation into toads, assuming they survive the encounter with the forest's monsters. Will these three witchlings work together and outsmart the Nightbeast to solidify their place in Ravenskill as Spares?
