Meet Wendy Dubrow
Founder of Book Clubs 4 Kids

Wendy is a fun-loving mom to two daughters and two pups. She adores being with her family, traveling, exploring the outdoors and all things “kids”.

She holds a dual Masters in Childhood Education and Special Education from NYU and a BA in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She loves engaging with children and finds their playfulness, curiosity and innocence refreshing and fulfilling.  Wendy prioritizes children’s education and equally important is focusing on children’s emotional and mental development as these tiny humans are our future.

A devout climate activist, Wendy is a trained Climate Reality Leader (Al Gore’s organization) and incorporates sustainability in all that she does. She helps run the Green Team at her daughters’ school and is the PTSA Sustainability Chair recognizing that small changes have rippling impacts to better our planet and life.  She brings passion for education, kindness, and climate justice to everything she touches.

Wendy is a self-published children’s book author, Hudson’s Tales, The Adventures of Puppy Brother.  During Covid, along with starting Book Clubs 4 Kids, she converted her garage to a full-fledged learning space to offer in-person learning pods during remote school. ReRoute Learning Pods continue to this day, as an after-school elementary enrichment program, offering mixed ages, thematic learning driven by student interest.  ReRoute also offers summer pods to provide theme-based engagement throughout the year. All things FUN and KIDS are Wendy’s happy place!

  • "BC4K goes above and beyond individual reading development. It’s a unique opportunity that combines personal reading growth with compassionate community through a shared reading experience. Wendy’s worldly selection of books, her dedicated approach, and her active conversations with her students have been exceptional"

  • "My daughter has been a part of Wendy’s Books 4 Kids book club for the past 3 years. During this time, she has become a ferocious reader, and it is now her favorite subject in school."

    - Heather, A BC4K Mom

  • "Wendy curates a diverse collection of books with thoughtful activities to help kids grow as readers, friends, and all around good humans. Exploring different genres and subjects, my 4th grader’s love for reading has never been stronger and I know we have Wendy and this community to thank!"

    -Christie, A BC4K Mom

  • "Wendy’s worldly selection of books, her dedicated approach, and her active conversations with her students have been exceptional. My daughter looks forward to each meeting where she partakes in engaging conversations that encourage articulation of thoughts and concise summarization of book themes, in turn strengthening her public speaking development and boosting her confidence."

    - Samar, A BC4K Mom

  • "Watching my daughter, who previously struggled with reading, now loving it, has inspired me to start a book club for my youngest daughter and her friends. Wendy has graciously helped me get their club up and running by lending me her ideas and plans. We have been going now for almost one year."
